A man who had been missing for 24 days after being kidnapped was found safe and unharmed in Cox’s Bazar. The victim, Md. Imtiaz Alam, 52, a resident of Ward 3 in Cox’s Bazar town and originally from Syedpur in Nilphamari, appeared at the RAB-15 Whykong camp around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2026. RAB-15’s Assistant Director (Law and Media) and Assistant Superintendent of Police A. M. Faruk confirmed the development that evening.

According to RAB, Imtiaz Alam was abducted around 10:45 p.m. on June 4 by unidentified assailants. Following a complaint from his wife, a regular abduction case was filed at Ukhiya Police Station. RAB stated that its Whykong camp intensified shadow investigations and intelligence surveillance, conducting continuous raids at suspected hideouts based on secret information and technological support. Under sustained operational pressure, the kidnappers allegedly released the victim.

After his reappearance, Imtiaz Alam was handed over to the Pan Bazar Police Camp under Ukhiya Police Station to complete legal formalities.
