Rajshahi University has formed a five-member inquiry committee to determine the cause of a clash and alleged attacks and recommend action against those responsible. The university administration asked the panel to submit its report within 10 working days following Monday’s incident, according to a report published on July 28, 2026.

Professor Md Rezaul Karim-2 of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology has been named convener. Other members are Professor Md Golam Sadiq of Pharmacy, Professor Md Asadul Haque of Materials Science and Engineering, Professor Ariful Islam of Philosophy, and Professor A Naeem Faruqi of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. The university’s public relations administrator, Professor Dr SM Kamruzzaman, confirmed the formation.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education Professor Dr Mamunur Rashid said the committee will inspect the central library, the RAKSU building, where an attack was alleged, and the proctor’s office, where the incident was alleged to have begun. Members held an initial meeting on Tuesday morning but had not reviewed video footage or photographs. The inquiry will proceed through site visits and collection of relevant evidence with police administration assistance.
