Addressing the public, he said Iran had been preparing for Israel’s destruction for years, reaching a critical point in recent months. According to Halevi, Israel launched its offensive when Iran had 2,500 surface-to-surface missiles, and without intervention, Iran could have amassed 8,000 within two years. He justified the strikes, claiming Iran posed an existential threat to Israel.
