"Mr. Iravani, you are not a victim. You are not a diplomat. You are a wolf in diplomat's clothing," said Israeli representative Danny Danon at a UN Security Council meeting, directly addressing Iran’s UN envoy, Amir Saeid Iravani. The tense exchange followed Iravani's call for international powers to uphold international law. Danon not only dismissed Iran's diplomatic posture but also held Tehran responsible for a recent attack that damaged a hospital in Beersheba, southern Israel. While Iran claimed its missiles were aimed at a nearby military base, Danon firmly rejected this justification. The Israeli diplomat added, “I do not apologize for strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.”
