BNP leader Ishraq Hossain has filed a writ petition in the High Court seeking to be sworn in as Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). This follows the court's earlier dismissal of a petition that sought to block his swearing-in, stating the petition was filed in the wrong forum and lacked jurisdiction.
