Former US Ambassador to Bangladesh William B. Milam and former US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State John Danilovich recently met with Jamaat-e-Islami leader Dr. Shafiqur Rahman in Dhaka. The meeting was also attended by Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher.

Discussions revolved around post-revolution democracy in Bangladesh, electoral integrity, women’s empowerment, and human rights.

The diplomats expressed hope that Bangladesh-US bilateral relations would strengthen further in the future.
