BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, currently under intensive medical observation at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, has been able to recognize visitors but remains in an unstable condition, according to BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas. Speaking to reporters early Friday, Abbas said Khaleda’s health fluctuates and that she is not yet stable, though improved treatment could aid her recovery. Doctors have reported infections in her heart and lungs, and a medical board comprising local and foreign specialists is overseeing her treatment. Earlier, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir described her condition as extremely critical. Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus and Law Adviser Asif Nazrul also visited the hospital to inquire about her health, while BNP leaders urged the public to pray for her recovery.
