The government is considering handing over a Tk 7,340 crore embankment construction project in Feni to the army to control flooding from the Muhuri, Kohua, and Silonia rivers. Advisor to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Faruq-e-Azam, shared the update during a visit to a local shelter on July 12. He stated that long-term flood issues in northern Feni require permanent solutions. Shelter residents, however, expressed concerns about inadequate relief support during the visit.
The government is considering assigning the Feni embankment construction project to the Bangladesh Army to help control flooding in the area. This was announced by Faruq-e-Azam, Advisor to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
