River Erosion Threatens Hundreds of Families in Chatolpara, Brahmanbaria

Residents of Chatolpara Union in Nasirnagar, Brahmanbaria are living in fear as the Meghna River erosion intensifies. Over a hundred families are already affected, with homes, markets, and farmland being swallowed by the river. Local leaders and officials, including the UNO, visited the area and assured action. Without immediate intervention, hundreds more may lose their homes. River erosion has plagued the region for the past 4–5 years, causing the loss of property worth crores of taka.

Residents of Chatolpara Devastated by River Erosion Fears

Nasirnagar Upazila, located approximately 30 kilometers north of Brahmanbaria district and known as a downstream region, is facing severe river erosion. On the western side of this upazila lies Chatolpara Union, where residents are gripped by fear due to the worsening erosion caused by numerous rivers and canals crisscrossing the area.
