Red Carpet at Canal Excavation Inauguration: DNCC Explains
Following the event, journalists questioned why a red carpet was used to reach the floating excavator. In response, DNCC authorities clarified that the floating excavator was placed on a temporary platform rather than a permanent pontoon. Since the path to the excavator was steep and muddy, and the excavator’s floor was slippery, a red-colored mat resembling a carpet was used to ensure safe movement and enhance visibility.
