Takaichi, Japan’s first female prime minister, took office in October after becoming LDP leader. Takaichi’s popularity, particularly among younger voters, and her growth-oriented strategy emphasizing AI, semiconductors, and defence spending are seen as key drivers of her coalition’s expected success.
