Police have arrested six leaders and activists of a banned affiliate organization of the ruling Awami League, accusing them of attempting to disrupt law and order and destabilize the country.
According to police sources, two individuals—Jasim and Samiul—were detained around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday from the Nandipara Bottola area. Later, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Shakil Ahmed was arrested from South Banasree.
In subsequent operations, Ahsan Habib and Aminul Islam Liton were apprehended from Khilgaon C-Block around 12:15 a.m., followed by the arrest of Aminul Islam Rifat from Khilgaon Tilpara at around 1:30 a.m.
Authorities confirmed that multiple specific cases have already been filed against the detainees in different police stations.
