In Narayanganj’s Chashara area, a large crowd of students stormed and vandalized the ancestral home of former Awami League MP Shamim Osman. Initially, protesters began demolishing the walls with hammers. As tensions escalated, the house was set on fire before a bulldozer was brought in to level the structure completely. The residence, known as “Baitul Aman,” holds historical significance—it hosted a meeting during the Language Movement on February 29, 1952, and was a focal point for political discussions during the Liberation War. Despite its historical importance, the house was targeted amid ongoing unrest.
