Watermelon is primarily a summer fruit, with the ideal planting period between February and April. However, in some regions of Bangladesh, this juicy fruit is now being cultivated year-round. In the coastal district of Khulna, farmers are increasing their income by growing watermelons along the banks of fish ponds, taking advantage of low costs and high returns.
