A 4-kilometer-long traffic jam has developed on the west side of Jamuna Bridge due to an overwhelming number of Dhaka-bound vehicles after Eid-ul-Azha. Since Friday morning, the pressure of passenger and goods-laden vehicles has caused severe gridlock stretching to Saidabad. Toll collection delays and occasional vehicle breakdowns have worsened the situation. Over 38,000 vehicles crossed the bridge in 24 hours, generating nearly Tk 28 million in tolls. Authorities are struggling to manage the flow despite operating nine toll booths.
