Milestone School and College observed the first anniversary of the tragic Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training jet crash that struck its Diabari campus on July 21 last year. The two-day remembrance program included floral tributes, moments of silence, and prayers in honor of the 35 victims, which included 28 students, three parents, three teachers, and one staff member. The events took place at the Haider Ali Academic Building and the main seminar hall of the campus.
The commemoration featured participation from students, teachers, parents, and organizations such as BNCC, Rover Scouts, and Girls Guides. College founder Colonel (Retd.) Nurun Nabi, Principal Mohammad Ziaul Alam, and other senior officials attended. Family members of the deceased and injured shared emotional recollections of the day, while prayers were offered for the victims and the recovery of those still struggling with injuries.
The crash had left lasting trauma among survivors and families, with some injured individuals yet to return to normal life. The remembrance underscored the community’s ongoing grief and resilience in the face of the tragedy.
