Former Bangladesh Army Chief M. Harun-ur-Rashid was found dead at the Chattogram Club guest house on Monday noon. He was 75. Police reported that he had arrived in Chattogram from Dhaka the previous day. When he failed to open his room door in the morning, suspicions arose, and his body was later seen through a window. The cause of death remains unknown. A decorated freedom fighter, Harun received the Bir Protik award and later served as ambassador to Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji.

Former Army Chief Harun-ur-Rashid Found Dead in Chattogram

Former Chief of Army Staff M. Harun-ur-Rashid has passed away (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un). His body was recovered from the guest house of the Chattogram Club around 12 PM on Monday (August 4). He was 75 years old. Harun-ur-Rashid also served as the president of Destiny Group.
