Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said that the people of Bangladesh are looking toward political parties with great hope and expectation. He made the remarks on Saturday at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka while attending an iftar event organized by Jamaat-e-Islami. The prime minister called on all political parties to work together to change the fate of the nation.
In his brief speech before the iftar, Rahman emphasized that the country is at an important moment following the recent national election, which he described as the beginning of a new democratic journey. He noted that the people of Bangladesh have sacrificed for more than a decade for democracy, enduring oppression, disappearances, and killings, and that through these sacrifices, citizens have regained the opportunity to practice their democratic rights.
Rahman urged political leaders to take an oath in the name of God to dedicate their future efforts to improving the lives of the people and to seek divine guidance in achieving this goal.
