BNP-nominated candidates have unofficially won both parliamentary constituencies in Magura during Bangladesh’s 13th national election. The results were announced on Thursday night after vote counting concluded. In Magura-1, BNP candidate Monowar Hossain Khan secured 184,183 votes, defeating Jamaat-e-Islami’s Abdul Matin, who received 83,783 votes. In Magura-2, BNP’s Nitai Roy Chowdhury obtained 150,180 votes, while his nearest rival, Jamaat candidate Md. Mushtarshad Billah, received 117,807 votes.
The announcement marks a complete sweep for the BNP in Magura district, where both constituencies went to the party’s nominees. The results were declared unofficially following the counting process conducted on Thursday night.
The broader election context included other constituencies where BNP and Jamaat candidates also achieved victories, indicating competitive outcomes across several districts.
