Correction to Remittance Source Data: United States Falls to Fifth, Saudi Arabia Reclaims Top Spot

After correcting a major data error, Saudi Arabia has once again emerged as the top source of remittances to Bangladesh, pushing the United States—long in the top position in recent years—down to fifth place. Bangladesh Bank data shows that remittance inflows from the U.S. have declined for three consecutive months since April this year, while inflows from Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and other Middle Eastern countries have risen.
