“No Surgery Performed, Claims of Surgery on Wrong Eye Baseless”
The hospital authorities explained that the treatment provided to Irtiza Ariz was not a surgical procedure. Due to the child’s young age, outdoor treatment was not feasible, so the child was taken to the operation theater for comprehensive treatment under “Examination under Anesthesia.” After examining both eyes, the doctor first removed foreign material from the right eye and later revisited the left eye at the request of the child’s parents, removing foreign material from the left eye as well. Since the child had corneal abrasion, the eye was bandaged for quick recovery. This is a recognized and standard practice, which does not qualify as surgery or operation.
