Bangladesh Rights Group Demands RAB Dissolution, 10-Point Plan for Enforced Disappearances

On International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, Adhikar urged the government to dissolve the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and implement a 10-point plan to address enforced disappearances. The demands include independent investigations, withdrawal of false cases, victim and witness protection, legal recognition for families of missing persons, and enhanced forensic and investigative capacity. The group criticized past state repression under Sheikh Hasina and called for reforms and the implementation of the “July Charter” to ensure justice and transparency.

ADHIKAR Presents 10 Demands to Interim Government, Calls for RAB Dissolution on International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances

On the occasion of the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, Adhikar released a statement today, Friday, August 29, at the Tofazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall of the National Press Club. In the statement, the organization described enforced disappearances as crimes against humanity and presented 10 demands to the government, including the dissolution of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
