Lawyer Shishir Monir has stated that the Supreme Court has declared Jamaat-e-Islami’s registration valid and has nullified the High Court’s verdict. The Election Commission has been directed to take necessary steps regarding the party’s registration and related matters. While today’s brief ruling didn’t explicitly mention the party’s electoral symbol (the scale), Monir said that the EC has been given authority to resolve these issues. Further clarity is expected once the official copy of the verdict is released.
