Ordinary officers of the income tax and customs cadres, currently observing a pen-down strike, have called for a resolution through dialogue over the dissolution of the National Board of Revenue (NBR). On Sunday, the strike entered its fourth day. In response, NBR Chairman Abdur Rahman Khan held a meeting and formed a four-member committee to liaise with protesters. However, officials supporting the government gazette claim that those opposing it are attempting to destabilize both the NBR and the administration.
