Three NCP women leaders and three female cultural figures welcomed Hefazat-e-Islam’s apology after its leaders allegedly called members of the Women Reform Commission "prostitutes." In a legal notice issued Monday, NCP leaders Syeda Nilima Dola, Dyuti Aranya Chowdhury, and Neela Afroze, along with authors Umme Raihana, Umme Farhana, and Camellia Sharmin Chura, demanded accountability. However, they expressed concern that Hefazat's press release still criticized feminism and warned against “Western agendas” and “religious excess.” They urged the group to abandon divisive politics and respect differing views.
