“If the July Charter is not given legal basis, the uprising will be branded as a conspiracy”

Maulana Muhammad Imtiaz Alam, Joint Secretary General of Islami Andolan Bangladesh and President of Dhaka Metropolitan South, said in a statement on Thursday (October 2) that the overall situation in the country, as well as the rhetoric of certain so-called intellectuals, is deteriorating day by day. Since the July Charter has no legal foundation, there is an ongoing effort to erase the July uprising. He warned that if the July Charter is not granted legal legitimacy, vested interests will soon succeed in portraying the uprising as a conspiracy.
