To ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during Ramadan, the government has planned to import four additional cargoes of LNG, announced Advisor Mohammad Faozul Kabir Khan. He stated that as gas reserves are depleting, the country is using foreign exchange reserves to import LNG. The peak power demand in winter ranges from 9,000 to 10,000 megawatts, while in summer, irrigation and high temperatures push the demand up to 17,000–18,000 megawatts. He urged the public to set air conditioners at 25°C to reduce electricity consumption.
