After Eid prayers at Baitul Mukarram, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman stated that for the first time in 16 years, Bangladeshis were celebrating Eid differently, free from fascist oppression. However, he noted that families of those martyred in the July movement were not celebrating in joy. He assured that justice would be served against those responsible for their fate. He pledged to work towards a corruption-free Bangladesh where every day feels like Eid. He called for a society based on justice, equality, and Islamic principles, free from oppression and discrimination.
