A Dhaka court on Monday, June 1, 2026, began the trial of Sohel Rana and his wife Swapna Akter in the murder of eight-year-old schoolgirl Ramisa Akter in Pallabi. The court read out the charges, and both accused were asked to respond; Swapna broke down in tears, while Sohel claimed she was innocent.
