Amartya Roy, VP candidate from the “Unity for Harmony” panel in the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) polls, has filed a petition with the High Court seeking reinstatement of his candidacy. His lawyer, Manzur Al Matin, clarified that contrary to media reports, the petition does not seek suspension of the election. Roy’s candidacy was suddenly canceled without prior notice, despite having cleared all scrutiny stages. His legal team expressed confidence that the court will rule in his favor.
