The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) announced its final list of nominees for the reserved women’s seats in the 13th National Parliament on Monday, April 20, 2026. Despite several well-known entertainment personalities collecting nomination forms, including singers Konokchapa, Baby Nazneen, Rizia Parveen, Dilruba Khan, Dithi Anwar, dancer Farhana Chowdhury Baby, and actresses Rina Khan, Rukaiya Jahan Chamak, and Meghna Alam, none were selected. The final list was released by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

The exclusion of Baby Nazneen, known as the “Black Diamond” of Bangla music and a long-time BNP activist close to the late leader Khaleda Zia, drew disappointment within the entertainment community. Party sources said the selection was based on internal evaluation and political activity, prioritizing long-serving and active female leaders over celebrities. Konokchapa and Chamak accepted the decision, expressing their continued commitment to serve the country and its people.

BNP had started selling nomination forms on April 10, and around 1,300 aspirants collected them during the three-day process, reflecting strong interest in the reserved seats.
