A peaceful demonstration in Kenya, held in remembrance of past anti-government protests, has turned into a deadly clash. On Thursday, June 26, at least 16 people were killed and nearly 400 injured during multiple confrontations between police and protesters across various cities including the capital, Nairobi. Most of the casualties were reportedly shot by police, according to Amnesty International, as reported by The Guardian.
