Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin has stated that a transparent voter list is essential for fair elections. However, the voter list currently includes nearly 1.7 million deceased voters, who, according to him, have come back from the grave to cast their votes. He made these remarks on Monday (February 24) at the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected committee of the Reporters’ Forum for Election Democracy (RFED) and the farewell event for the outgoing committee at the ETI building in the capital.
