A woman was allegedly killed by her drug-addicted younger brother in Raipur village under Jagatpur Union of Titas upazila in Comilla on Saturday night. Police recovered the body and sent it to Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue for investigation. The accused, identified as Md. Sanaullah, 28, reportedly assaulted his elder sister, Razia Akter, 35, during a dispute over money for drugs. Locals detained him and tied him to a tree before informing the police.
Upon receiving the report, the Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Tania Akter Lubna, along with Titas police, visited the scene and recovered drug-related equipment. A mobile court sentenced Sanaullah to ten days of imprisonment for drug use and handed him over to the police. According to officials, the victim’s father stated that Sanaullah had long been addicted to drugs and often assaulted family members.
Police have launched an investigation into the death to determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.
