A woman in Natore died after ingesting poisonous gas tablets and allegedly giving the same to her three daughters due to persistent taunts from her husband and in-laws for having three daughters. The incident occurred late Wednesday night in Singra Upazila. The woman, Sharmin Begum (32), passed away before reaching the hospital, while her daughters, Jim (8), Mim (8), and Sinha (3), were hospitalized in critical condition. Police are investigating the incident and an unnatural death case has been filed.

Mother Dies by Suicide After Facing Taunts for Giving Birth to Daughters; Three Daughters Hospitalized

In Natore, a woman allegedly consumed poisonous gas tablets (a type of pesticide) and fed the same to her three daughters after being unable to endure taunts from her husband and mother-in-law for giving birth to three daughters. The incident occurred late Wednesday night (February 5) in the remote village of Boro in Dahia Union, Singra Upazila. Following the incident, Murad Hossain, the woman’s husband, has gone into hiding.
