An alleged petrol bomb attack targeted the home of Kapasia Upazila Jubo Dal convenor Faridul Alam Bulbul in Gazipur during the early hours of Tuesday night. Two petrol bombs were reportedly thrown at the residence at about 1am while Bulbul was inside with family members. No one was injured, but the incident caused alarm in the area.
Local sources said one of the devices struck a window grille of the house and exploded with a loud sound, while the other remained in the yard. Family members awoke after the blast and went outside. Bulbul said he saw two petrol bombs resembling Seven Up glass bottles and immediately informed police.
Kapasia police collected evidence from the scene. Additional Superintendent of Police Asaduzzaman and other officers inspected the location on Wednesday morning. Police said an investigation was under way to identify and bring those involved under the law, while urging local residents not to panic. Bulbul has filed a case at Kapasia police station against unidentified people, and BNP leaders demanded a swift investigation and arrests.
