Illegal Shipbreaking Yard Demolished in Sitakunda Forest Land, 10 Decimals Reforested in Gazipur

Authorities demolished the illegal Kohinoor Steel shipbreaking yard built on 7.10 acres of forest land in Sitakunda’s Tulatoli area. Despite multiple notices, the company continued operations without lease or approval. A joint drive involving the Army, RAB, police, and environment officials reclaimed the land. Meanwhile, in Gazipur, 10 decimals of forest land illegally occupied by Nitol Motors were recovered and reforested by the Wildlife Department after stopping unauthorized construction and filing a legal case.

Illegal Shipbreaking Yard Evicted from Forest Land in Sitakunda

The Chattogram District Administration has conducted an eviction drive against an illegal shipbreaking yard named Kohinoor Steel, established on forest land in Tulatoli Mouza of Bhatiari Union, Sitakunda Upazila, Chattogram. Additionally, around 10 decimals of forest land in Gazipur were recovered and reforested by the Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Department.
