Narrow Escape for 1,200 Train Passengers
On Sunday around 2:30 PM, railway security personnel noticed that a section of the Dhaka-Gazipur dual-gauge up-line near Dhirashram in Gazipur had bent approximately 20 meters and slipped off its sleeper locks. A red flag was immediately placed at the site to signal danger. At that time, the Bonolota Express train, traveling from Dhaka to Chapainawabganj with 1,200 passengers, was approaching the area. Spotting the red flag, the high-speed train was stopped in time, preventing what could have been a catastrophic accident. All passengers were saved.
