Narrow Escape for 1,200 Train Passengers

On Sunday around 2:30 PM, railway security personnel noticed that a section of the Dhaka-Gazipur dual-gauge up-line near Dhirashram in Gazipur had bent approximately 20 meters and slipped off its sleeper locks. A red flag was immediately placed at the site to signal danger. At that time, the Bonolota Express train, traveling from Dhaka to Chapainawabganj with 1,200 passengers, was approaching the area.
