A 20-year-old man named Md. Rashed Kazi was hacked to death by assailants in Khulna’s Labanchara area on Tuesday. According to police and family sources, Rashed was called out of his home around 11 a.m. by an acquaintance, after which he was attacked with sharp weapons near a school in the Schoolbhita area. He was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Sub-inspector Piyush Das of Labanchara Police Station said officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving the report and that the motive behind the killing is under investigation. He added that people known to Rashed were involved in the attack. The victim was the son of Kazi Anisur Rahman from Krishnanagar area.
The report also noted that on March 19, unidentified assailants had entered Rashed’s home and shot his father, mother, elder brother, and wife, indicating a possible link between the two violent incidents.
