Israel has proposed a 40-day ceasefire in Gaza, aiming to secure the release of 11 live Israeli hostages and the return of 16 bodies. In return, Israel is willing to release a specific number of Palestinian prisoners. The proposal includes a request for Hamas to provide information about the remaining hostages on the fifth day of the ceasefire and to return 16 bodies on the tenth day. The Netanyahu government believes Hamas still holds 59 Israeli hostages, at least 24 of whom are alive. Meanwhile, over 9,500 Palestinians remain in Israeli prisons.
