Rawhide Export Banned for Three Months; Banks Barred from Accepting LCs

The government has imposed a three-month ban on the export of rawhides, including "wet blue" leather. As a result, commercial banks will not be allowed to accept any letters of credit (LCs) from foreign banks for the export of these items. Similarly, exporters are prohibited from entering into LC agreements with international buyers for rawhides.
