Residents of Nandangachhi in Rajshahi’s Charghat upazila staged a protest by blocking the railway tracks on Wednesday, demanding that intercity trains stop at their local station and that the station be renovated. Starting around 6:30 AM, protesters used red flags to halt train movement from both sides of the station. As a result, several major trains, including the Dhaka-bound Madhumati, Banolata, and Silk City Express, as well as the Sagordari heading towards Khulna, have been stranded near the station. Train communication between Rajshahi and the rest of the country has been severely disrupted due to the blockade.
