A Jubo Dal activist named Md Nasir Talukdar, also known as Madhu Nasir, was shot dead on Sunday night in Shamsherpara under Ward 6 of Kodalpur Union, Raozan upazila of Chattogram. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when armed assailants opened fire on him and fled. Locals rescued Nasir and took him first to Raozan Upazila Health Complex and later to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where he died around 11:30 p.m.
According to locals, Nasir sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his abdomen and thigh, and several bullet shells were recovered from the scene. The killing took place just 46 hours after another BNP supporter, Kawsar-uz-Zaman Babul, was shot dead in the same upazila. District Jubo Dal vice president Saber Sultan Kajol condemned the killing, alleging that such incidents were intended to tarnish the image of their leader, MP Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury.
Raozan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sajedul Islam said Nasir was an accused in six cases, including one for murder. Police have collected evidence from the scene and launched an operation to arrest those involved.
