Police have arrested one suspect in connection with the murder of a young man at the Rampal bus stand area in Bagerhat’s Rampal upazila. According to police and local sources, the incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Sunday when Ekhlas Gazi was at Humayun’s tea stall in the bus stand area. A group of individuals attacked him, and locals took him to the upazila health complex, where doctors declared him dead. Police later recovered the body and sent it to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital. The victim was buried on Monday afternoon after funeral prayers.
Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police for Mongla-Rampal Circle, Md Refatul Islam, confirmed that one person had been arrested in connection with the killing. He stated that the investigation is ongoing and that police are working to bring all those involved under the law. Authorities have assured that no one connected to the crime will be spared.
Further details about the motive or identities of other suspects have not yet been disclosed as the investigation continues.
