An investigation by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMU) identified 144 teachers, doctors, nurses, and staff involved in violent acts during anti-discrimination protests on August 4, 2023. Accusations include assaulting students, arson, and attempted murder. Of these, 16 were suspended for attempting to kill a student, and 23 were identified as masterminds. A case has been filed, and disciplinary actions are being pursued by both the university and law enforcement authorities.

Attack on Students and Public at BSMMU: 144 Identified, Including Doctors

In connection with the attack on anti-discrimination protesters, 144 teachers, doctors, nurses, and staff members of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) have been identified. On August 4 of last year, during the ongoing movement, there is clear evidence against them for committing brutal attacks on students and the public, arson, vandalism within the university premises, and even attempting to beat a student to death in front of the university’s cabin block.
