Barrister Farzana Sharmin Putul, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate, has been unofficially declared the winner in the Natore-1 (Lalpur-Bagatipara) constituency during the 13th National Parliamentary Election. She received 102,197 votes, while her closest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami nominee Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, secured 89,431 votes. The results were confirmed on Thursday night, February 12, 2026, by Lalpur Upazila Executive Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Julhas Hossain Saurav.
Voting took place peacefully from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. across 84 polling centers in Lalpur and 41 in Bagatipara. According to the Election Commission, the constituency had 368,276 registered voters, including 183,595 men, 184,679 women, and two third-gender voters. A total of 272,355 votes were cast, with 5,002 ballots declared invalid.
Following the announcement, Farzana Sharmin Putul expressed gratitude to her supporters and described the victory as belonging to the people of Lalpur-Bagatipara. She urged all party members and supporters to remain calm after the results.
