However, he stressed that a country’s global influence—technological or otherwise—naturally increases interest in its language and culture.

Learning English Doesn’t Mean Forgetting Bengali: Dr. Yunus

Interim government’s Chief Adviser, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has stated that in many countries, citizens speak multiple languages. Therefore, learning English does not mean one has to forget Bengali. He made these remarks on Friday afternoon while addressing the International Mother Language Medal Award Ceremony as the chief guest. The event was organized at the International Mother Language Institute, where recipients were awarded a gold medal, a certificate of honor, and prize money.
