Professor Ali Riaz, Vice Chairman of the National Consensus Commission, announced that most political parties support a proposal to bar individuals from holding the posts of both Prime Minister and party leader simultaneously.
This update came on the 17th day of the commission’s second-phase dialogue, held at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka. However, parties like BNP, LDP, Labour Party, and NDM have expressed dissent and will be allowed to record a "note of dissent" in the final charter. Discussions also addressed appointments to the Election Commission and other constitutional bodies.
