During a bilateral meeting in Washington, former U.S. President Donald Trump was asked about alleged U.S. involvement in Bangladesh’s recent regime change. Trump denied any deep state role and passed the question to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, Modi avoided commenting on Bangladesh and instead spoke about Ukraine. The discussion follows the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government amid a student-led uprising, with Awami League accusing the Biden administration of interference—an allegation U.S. officials have repeatedly denied.

Trump Asked Modi to Speak on Bangladesh, Modi Shifted to Ukraine

An Indian journalist asked, “We have seen how the U.S. deep state was involved in regime change in Bangladesh during the Biden administration—this is clear. Then, Muhammad Yunus met with Junior Soros… So, what do you have to say about Bangladesh?” In response, Trump said, “No, our deep state had no role here. The Prime Minister (of India) has been working on this matter for a long time… Actually, from what I have read, India has been dealing with this for hundreds of years. So, I would rather leave the answer about Bangladesh to the Prime Minister (of India).” However, Narendra Modi avoided responding to Trump’s remarks. Instead of commenting on Bangladesh, he shifted the discussion to Ukraine.
