Lutfuzzaman Babar to Be Released Thursday

BNP leader and former State Minister for Home Affairs, Lutfuzzaman Babar, has been acquitted of the life sentence in the high-profile 10-truck arms smuggling case. There are now no obstacles to his release. Additionally, the High Court has acquitted four other individuals in this case. The sentences of five others, including Paresh Barua, the military commander of India’s separatist group ULFA, have been reduced.
